In the Armenian Quarter of the Old City
Shoshana and I rode the bus to Jerusalem to visit the Old City and Ben Yehuda street. It’s sort of hard to comprehend how small this country is. Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are only a short 50 minute bus ride away from one another. That’s closer than Findlay and Columbus. Nothing here has taken more than a two hour bus ride, and I’ve seen almost all of the borders.
Hiking by the Banyas stream. This place reminded me of Hocking Hills, so I really enjoyed it but missed home too.

The Valley of Tears and Syria, from the top of Mt. Bental. The Golan Heights used to belong to Syria, and during the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the Israeli army took and held the land.
